Around the Creek

Nicknamed ‘the Cairns hike in paradise’ and known by the locals for its crystal-clear mountain swimming, this 1.5-hour walk (each way) to the top of Behana Gorge is worth every step.

Keep your eyes open along the way to spot the array of wildlife, including large goanna lizards that live in the area. There are many small creeks and waterholes, including the impressive Rudge Lookout that you notice along the walk, but get ready for the perfectly painted picture of white water rapids, waterfalls, and calm freshwater swimming holes when you reach Clamshell Falls!

Once at the top, take a moment to relax… Close your eyes and listen to the wildlife and the sounds of the rainforest along with the mystic waterfalls flowing, and you will know that you are in paradise. Then plunge into the fresh mountain water lined by giant granite boulders and even swim into the bottom of the waterfall.

Next, we’re off to our Funky Chill-Out Zone to eat, relax, and play before jumping back on the bus and heading to one of Queensland’s best-kept secrets

If time permits, we make a pit stop at the world’s largest naturally formed pyramid for an additional photo opportunity.

On a hot summer’s day, there’s nothing better than sitting in a beautiful natural swimming hole in the rainforest. Well, maybe there’s one thing… sliding down one! Spend the afternoon racing each other down nature’s very own waterslide at Josephine Falls on your bum or grab one of our inflatable rings! What a way to spend the rest of your day, playing in this tranquil oasis… Bliss!
